My MIL (who, by the way, is a lovely, lovely person!) has had a book published. Am so delighted for her - it would be fantastic if any MNers read it.
She is American and it is based on the letters she wrote home to her parents while living in Turkey in the 1960s. She had met my FIL, who is Turkish, in London and moved to Turkey to be with him while he did his military service there. It's all about his family, the culture in Turkey in the 60s, Turkish women's lives, the politics of the time - everything.
I know I probably find it particularly fascinating because of the family connection, but I really think it's worth reading...here's the website www.fortycamelgirl.com if you want to know more! It's available to buy on amazon.co.uk - Forty Camel Girl by E Grace Beyler.
