Just that really, my 17 year old daughter has just started to read books again and I would love to encourage her with something she can get her teeth into but not so difficult that it puts her off.

Paper Towns (same author)

If I Stay, Gayle Forman

13 Reasons Why, Jay Asher

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, Becky Albertalli

All the Bright Places, Jennifer Niven

I've got a 16 y/o dd who reads a lot of John Green. I reckon your dd might like Rainbow Rowell - I'd suggest Fangirl as a good one to start with.

PawneeParksDept · 12/09/2018 21:28

The Rainbow Rowell I'd recommend is Eleanor and Park i am in my 30s and was obsessed with it

Looking For Alaska and Paper Towns by John Green

To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

The Patrick Ness books

HollowTalk · 12/09/2018 21:29

Would she like Jodi Picoult books?

Kaz2200 · 13/09/2018 06:50

Thanks all I'm going to order her some of these, funny though that I love my kindle and read every day, and yet she prefers an actual book.

I second the suggestions above! She may also enjoy some of these:

Everything, Everything - Nicola Yoon

The Sky is Everywhere
I'll Give You The Sun - both by Jandy Nelson

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe - Benjamin Alire Sáenz

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl - Jesse Andrews

Solitaire - Alice Oseman

I love that book (and film) and not usually a reader of these types of books either. I also really enjoyed Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

Serenity05 · 14/09/2018 13:29

History is All You Left Me and They Both Die at the End, both by Adam Silvera.

Try her with the Emily Barr young adult ones: The One memory of Flora Banks and the The Truth Lies of Ella Black
