Special book to buy for DS's 1st Birthday (for him to keep)

Anyone have any good suggestions please for a really nice book (set of books) that I could buy for DS's 1st birthday?

Hi - I bought my DS (now 3.5) a box set of Mr Men books? You can also buy the books that have the child's name (and friends or family) throughout that means your present is very unique and special to your son. Because I had so much pleasure and fun with books as a child, I have also bought my DS a big range of the ladybird books (you know, the classic Three Little Pigs, and The Elves and the Shoemaker etc etc etc - proper story books!).

Whilst your DS might not be able to read them himself, I can guarantee he'll love looking at the bright pictures, and you'll enjoy reading them.

I bought my DS (and one for his friend) this book here for their 1st birthdays - I thought it would be a lovely thing for us all to look at and keep
