Laurell K Hamilton up to about book 5 of the Anita Blake series. They're excellent fun until then, afterwards there's a lot of sex and very little plot, which I find tedious, but clearly suits other fans.
Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series.
Patricia Briggs - werewolves and vampires and other things.
The True Blood novels by Charlaine Harris.
Karen Chance's books - she has two series, but I think both have vampires.
Barbara Hambly's vampire series which starts with Travelling with the Dead (these are excellent, very creepy and disconcerting).
Kim Harrison.
Kim Wilkins.
Kelley Armstrong
and an older series but a good one by Tanya Huff which starts with Blood Ties.
Not to forget Bram Stoker's Dracula, which is a cracking good read.
If you do a search for urban fantasy + vampire you'll find heaps.
