OK MY book, well on the reccomendation of DH I read this and I have to say I loved it, very cleverly written dates wise and very accurate about the type of people who went in the house compared with the stolid Detective and very apt at this time watching all those women go in the house on Wednesday night. Interesting descriptions of all the people who work behind the scenes and you can imagine the bordeom of the camera men who have to do the nightshift, would be interesting to know how high the turnover is of staff on the real BB.

I have read a couple of others of Ben Elston, including The First Casualty whih is a murder mystery set in the Trenches in the first world war, so you could never accuse Ben elton of writing to type. He is one of the few authors that both DH and me both read

Yes I've read all his except First Casualty which is on the shelf.

Trouble is I can only remember the gist of books years after I've read them.

I do remember I enjoyed it though

I haven't read this one but have read four or five other Ben Eltons and loved them. Also went to see the play, Popcorn, it was very good.

I love Ben Elton, his sense of humour really appeals to me and I love the little asides in his books. Also mad about The Young Ones.

I'm still waiting for my copy to come into the library someone "took" the one I had reserved so should be back soon.

But I have read a couple of other Ben Elton's books and I find them very funny. I am looking forward to reading this one as QueenOfBleach mentions, very apt timing.

Thanks for this book QueenofBleach, I really enjoyed it and perfect timing with the start of BB.
This is the first book I've read by Ben Elton and was totally different from what I was expecting. For some reason I assumed that his books would all try to be a bit too clever and smug but I was so wrong. I don't think I will ever watch BB in the same way again!

The way the game continued after the murder was great, if you are prepared to put yourself on telly 24 hours a day, you probably would do anything for money. I love the fact that they all thought themselves sheltered when they were really at the mercy of "House Arrest"

I guess we won't be seeing Ben Elton volunteering for Big Brother any time soon.

Anybody know who is next to choose?

I think it is just the next book on the list.
I've posted a reminder on the join here list for people to add a choice of book but I don't know who is still actively reading them.
