Not a book - poem help - ( about mum through child's ages)

sorry I didn't know where to post this . I recall reading a kind of peom in the past - through a child's eyes really something like at age 5 love you mummy want to be like you , then teenager years what do you know mum , then as get older wish I could ask mum . Anyone know it ? please share thanks

There are so many poems on this topic. Do you remember where you encountered it? Is it a classic poem from school for example?

I know exactly the one you mean. It ends as you say with a line about wishing Mum was still here. Can’t for the life of me think what it’s called or who it’s by! Will attempt some googling but am on phone do may take a while.

hackmum I think you are thinking of the same one , its not particularly sad other than the very end , wouldn't say really a funeral poem
