I've been longing for this, the final Frieda book, and now I've read it. Interested to hear what other Nicci fans thought... I really liked the introduction of Lola as a character and I found the new police characters plausible too.
Has anyone else read this excitedly?

Just finished it today! Yes I really enjoyed it. I found I had forgotten some of the other storylines so it was good to be reminded. Quite a good twist at the end too.

Good! I enjoyed it too. I love the geographical aspect of the books.

You do have to suspend your disbelief but I'm used to that with this series....;)

Oh yes definitely :D She's a bit too perfectly imperfect, but then that's fiction - especially, as you say, this series. Do you like other NF books?

saltedcaramelhotchoc · 18/07/2018 14:07

I love the early NF books (eg The Safe House, Killing me Softly); was less keen on the most recent ones before the Frieda series (eg Complicit). I do like the way she writes (or they write, to be pedantic!)....

I'm with you and like the earlier ones. I very much like these crime series' - like Susan Hill's Serrallier ones. I did like Sophie Hannah, but she suddenly got so incredibly confusing that I gave up. Still struggling with 'The Carrier'

saltedcaramelhotchoc · 18/07/2018 17:46

I agree on Sophie Hannah! The early ones were the best.

I've really enjoyed Kate Rhodes' Alice Quentin series.

And I love Susan Hill. There's a new one coming out in the autumn....

I know!!! I cant wait …
Oh I must try kate Rhodes - not heard of her.

saltedcaramelhotchoc · 18/07/2018 21:25

It's a series - she's a psychologist and it's not that dissimilar to Frieda K There's also a newer series- just the one book in it so far, though...

I read it as soon as it came out and really enjoyed it. A satisfying end to the series.
