this might sound a bit odd but anyway....

This was one of my very favourite books as a child. It's by Mara Kay and is set in pre-revolutionary Russia in a ballet school in Moscow. The main character is sent there to become a ballerina but ends up an actress instead. The thing is, it's long out of print and the cheapest copy I can find online is over £100!!! Does anyone else remember this book? Was it as good as I dimly remember? And does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy for less than a ton?!

Many thanks!

It sounds lovely! Did a bit of searching for you online and the cheapest I could find was £190!

May be worth contacting small book dealers in your county to keep an eye out for you? Though think if it is a true love maybe it is worth the hefty price tag, but I do loe a good book! Could you justify i as an investment purchase??

Thanks very much, Kay. Yes i fear that I will cave in at some point and cough up an extortionate sum. I wonder why some books become so expensive - it wasn't printed on gold leaf as far as I recall...!
