Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony

I've just started reading this to my 8 yr old, we have not read the others in the series but have read a couple of Eion Colfers books for younger readers which are excellent.
This book seems really good and i'm tempted to have a sneaky read ahead myself!
has anyone read it or read others in the series ( this is the 5th book - just out in paperback)

Embarrassingly I've read them all. The others in the series are really good too, and tbh Lost Colony will probably mean more to you if you've read the previous ones (although it's fine as a standalone)

well to be honest I have been reading a good few pages ahead! it certainly is one that apeals to all. he has just started reading a lot on his own as well so I may well invest in the series.
