Is anyone else reading Eve of Man by Tom and Giovanna Fletcher? I've just started it and it's good so far!

I read the Chritmasaurus with DD and enjoyed that. Have also started You're The one That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher, but that's not doing it for me as much.

I have just bought the hardback of this to read with DS who is 8, we read the Creakers and Christmasaurus together. Do you think this one would be suitable too? He's quite advanced for his age but i didn't know whether it would be a bit too dark for a 8 year old. If so i'll just read it alone!

I think it's aimed at teens, and definitely comes across as much more adult than Chritmasaurus. Perhaps read the first few chapters yourself and see what you think?

Yeah I think I’ll do that just incase. Looking forward to reading it. I hope you enjoy it!

Just picked up my copy and its holding me. I like the concept.

I've just finished it, I wouldn't class it as a kids book, I think it's aimed at the hunger games, red Queen age. -teen fiction?
I didn't enjoy it as much as The Christmasaurus which was fantastic! (The edition with a cd of songs is fabulous!)

When do you think we'll find out that Vivian Silvers has been dead/imprisoned for years? And Bram's dad is controlling her? (I assumed that's where this one was leading, but maybe it won't be revealed 'til the next one)

I thought it was ok, a bit of a clumsy rehashing of The Handmaid's Tale genre with a few improbable coincidences, especially in Bram's storyline (his dad kept a photo of the place where Eve's dad was kept, Bram had it as his desktop photo for years and never noticed a house in the photo? The Freevers happened to copy that same photo even though it meant nothing to them?)

Overall I enjoyed listening to it. I felt a little uncomfortable with the demonisation of IVF to be honest (although I don't think this is what the authors were going for)

I will probably get the next one to find out what happened next (although if it ends up dragging on like the Red Queen series, with no real story arc, I might not bother...)

I finished this the other day. Glad I didn’t read it with DS as it was a bit too grown up for him!
I enjoyed it and will be reading the other two when they come out.
