Holiday reading - theme of love (not chick lit)

I'm off on holiday on Friday for a week and will get a chance to do some reading for the first time in ages. I normally read thrillers on holiday but this year fancy something different.

I really want to read stuff on the theme of love - not your chick lit pulp fiction but some real, thought provoking, tear inducing or heart warming novels about love.

Any suggestions?

Norwegian Wood - Hanuki Murakami, The End of the Affair - Graham Greene, The Other Side of You - Salley Vickers, A Kind of Loving - Stan Barstow, The Madness of a Seduced Woman - Susan Fromberg Shaeffer, The Night Watch - Sarah Waters. Depending on mood :-)

If you can get a copy, Happenstance by Carol Shields. The story of a week in a marriage - half the book is his story, the other half is hers. I loved it.

I liked The keeper of lost things.

The impossibility of love. I liked that book. Although it's quite fat so only good if you're taking a kindle. Or driving Grin
