Is 'The history of bees' terribly depressing?

I need to read somthing that is not too depressing at the moment, I am working my way through the kindle sample and I'm wondering if this may be a bit gloomy? I am a bit hooked though! however there are times when I don't do so well on gloomy books, and this is one such time.

It’s an emotional story and I really felt her loneliness

If I am feeling a little low I know books can pull me down so maybe not the best book to read at the moment

But it is a great book
