Anyone reading/read these (if 'read', please no big spoilers - I've just finished Annihilation and am about to start the second one!) and finding/found them deeply disturbing? I remember reading Lovecraft's Mountains of Madness as a young teen (and being terrified by it) and it seems similar to that.

Also interested to read that they're making them into a film(s?) which could either be really good or utterly appalling.

I haven't read any of them but have seen the film which recently became available on Netflix. The first 3/4 was atmospheric and unnerving. After that it just got weird.

I might read the book at some point; the ending of the film was visually impressive but it wasn't that clear what was actually going on!

Ignore my last post; I've just read online that the film has a completely different ending from the novel!

I watched the trailer for the film last night and decided that it was probably quite different to the books. The books get weirder and weirder!
