Loved the plot though the writing was bland. Has anyone got any recommendations for historical that might pull on my heart strings??

Have you read Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies? I couldn’t manage to finish The Last Tudor it was so terribly written. And I’ve slogged my way through most Philippa Gregory for some reason. Also the Shardlake books are quite good stories.

I recently read The Girl in the Glass Tower by Elizabeth Fremantle which is about Lady Arbella Stuart, England's lost Queen. I enjoyed it so much I went back to the library and got the book the the author recommended as an account of her life.
I've also just started Three Sisters, Three Queens by Philippa Gregory. Not read too much yet but seems good so far.

Just started wolf hall...... Only a few pages in and I'm worried I'm going to lose track of who's who. Perhaps that 3 page list of characters will help me! Thanks for all the suggestions! Grin
