Hope someone will recognise this story and know the book, unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the book or the author! I read it a lot of years ago and keep thinking of it, and would like to reread it. Now from what I can remember:
it is the story of 2 young girls (friends) and their lives, they are part of a travelling theatre group, I think it starts with them in the early part of last century, a fire starts in a theatre and one of them traps the other in there somehow, she does survive but is burned in the face, she goes on to have a singing career, the other girl goes off to be a Hollywood actress and the story is of their lives over the years and they eventually meet again.
This is all the vague memories I have, does anyone know this book at all?
