Found this book on iBooks for £2.99. What a bargain! I love this book. It’s a real novel. It has layers, thought provoking dilemmas and you cant stop reading it. There is a dvd which I will get when dh has finished it as well. Did others enjoy this book and if they did did you enjoy the dvd as well?

Didn't read the book but saw the film - time I'll never get back! Think it's one of the worst films I've ever seen. Possibly the edit cos the story was good.

Loved the book
Unexpectedly good

I liked the book much more than the film.

I think that in the film it wasn't possible to convey all the suffering that Isabel went trough before she made the decision to keep the baby. The book worked because you had a deep sympathy for all three of the main characters. The film was beautifully shot and well acted but just didn't have the depth of the book. Still worth a watch though.

Eliza - really ? I loved the film, one of the best I've ever seen Grin. I haven't read the book, not sure I want to after seeing the film, but perhaps I should.

Thank you everyone. Just finishing the last few pages. I have enjoyed this so much that I am going to find it difficult to read anything else for a while. It stays with you. Wonderful for a book club discussion. Will give the film a go.

Just finished this book. I did enjoy it and loved the setting , characters and plot and thought the prose and imagery were poetic. It was better than I thought it would be as I am very hard to please and rarely like books that other people have recommended to me. I would like to watch the film soon just to watch Fassbender and Vikander falling in real love.
