IQ84 Anyone Read It?

I bought the trilogy on holiday it was long around 1,300 pages, the plot is so out there but it just draws you in. I love it, it's in my top tenist of best reads. Has anyone else read it?

I read it, and thought it was ok. He writes the worst sex scenes ever I much prefer his early stories, Norwegian Wood, A Wild Sheep Chase. Wind up Bird chronicle is probably my favourite of his more recent stuff - equally surreal to 1Q84, probably a bad sex scene in that too though.

I've just ordered Norwegian Wood and Pinball 73. Yes the sex scenes are pretty bad but the rest of it was amazing.

I read the first one then stopped for a bit when I had a baby and didn’t pick it up for ages. Then I remembered the plot and just didn’t want to read it anymore! I like Murakami generally though he’s a favourite.

Yes, I loved it. It was so strange, but kept me totally gripped. DH and DS have both read it too, and we often refer to incidents and characters in it.

I want to read more Murakami, but haven’t got around to it yet.

TonTon I feel the same the plot was so out there but it was just so good.
