It feels weird posting this here as it’s not an audiobook it’s more akin to a podcast series like Serial. Has anyone listened to it?

I’m about three episodes from the end and finding it gripping.

Haven't started listening yet, but it looks interesting so I'm glad to hear that it's good. I'll look forward to listening.

What's this? Please tell me more as I live in West Cork so in in anything related to it.

It's a freebie offered by Audible to members. It looks like they're moving into the podcast type market and they've released a few podcast serials - maybe as some sort of market research.

Here's what Audible say:

"This much we do know: Sophie Toscan du Plantier was murdered days before Christmas in 1996, her broken body discovered at the edge of her property near the town of Schull in West Cork, Ireland. The rest remains a mystery."

Fantastic. Thank you for replying. I live on the coast not far from Schull so hopefully, I this will be great to listen to on my walks.
(Schull has a great playground overlooking the harbour, as do most of the coastal villages around here.)

There's a thread about this in Craicnet too. I've listened to the whole series, and I'm starting again. I found it gripping, very like Serial season 1, but I'm utterly bewildered by what I think of the whole situation now that I've heard the whole thing. All I know for sure is Bailey is creepy as fuck.

NewImprovedNinja · 19/02/2018 14:01

Ah, this is based on a real murder that remains officially unsolved but with lots of possible theories as to motive etc.

MealyPotatoes · 19/02/2018 21:35

I totally agree MulhuddartDrive - don’t you think he sounds like Nigel Farrage?

Just this moment finished this! Thanks for the recommendation.

My god Bailey is amazingly unlikeable. Obnoxious as someone put it. I found myself laughing at parts. But that seems awful given the context of the murder. But he kept making me think of Alan Partridge.

Brilliant podcast, I loved it. More more more like this please!

If anyone who love this hasn’t listened to The Daniel Morgan story that is also highly recommended

tobee · 05/03/2018 17:36

Ooh, thanks, dirtyprettything, just starting to listen to that now.

Sorry to derail a bit more, but listening to Daniel Morgan podcast is great but frustrating because each episode keeps being interrupted by adverts. They appear in the middle of sentences believe it or not.
