I can’t remember the name of this novel- help!

I downloaded a sample to my kindle but must have deleted it - these are the things I remember-

It was out in the last 5 years
A woman is living under an assumed identity in a northern town
She has come out of prison - possibly killed someone when a child
Maybe something about a shopkeeper/neighbour being friendly?

Ooh I've read this a few years ago. She relocates to Barrow-in-Furness and befriends the old woman who lives across the street and takes her out for drives in her car? Can't remember what it's called though sorry. Will come back if I do.
