Long drive - audiobook for parents and teens!

Any suggestions please? For us plus 13 and 12 year old to listen to.... something fast moving/funny preferably rather than long and descriptive. Done all the David Walliams, and we are slightly out the top of those now anyway, but they kept us going on many a previous long journey.

Harry Potter.
We drove 14 hours to France and they asked to stay in the car to hear the end!!

Its always Terry Pratchett for us, ideally the ones read by Tony Robinson. I'd start with the Wee Free Men, but they are of an age to enjoy any of them, inc Good Omens which my 11 year old has really enjoyed recently.

FCB - great call. We've done Cosmic (twice!) but not done the others. Kids have possibly read one or two, but listening is a whole new experience!

Cheers for Terry Pratchett tip - never read or listened, but if suitable for this age and entertaining then happy days.

HP - also a great call. Again, we've read them, but I gather the audiobooks are tremendous.

We had read HP as well but Stephen Fry is brilliant narrator.

Another vote for Harry Potter.

Borrow them from your local library if you need CD's

We managed a drive to and from the French Alps with our 9 and 11 year olds with these to keep us going. Stephen Fry is excellent.

Michael Mcintyre's autobiography was loooooong and very funny. Kept us amused all the way from the UK to Tuscany, and most of the way back!

The full cast recording of northern lights (in fact, all His dark materials are good audiobooks)

Jurassic park is good, but a bit scary!

If you're library members you might get free audiobook downloads, so you could have a browse and see what you fancy.

Another vote for Hitchhikers. I got this because my ds (12) wanted more Stephen Fry to listen to.

Also good to listen to is Bill Bryson.

Maybe look at audiable by amazon if you havent already i find it excellent and value for money

Also what about the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz? They have kept our whole family entertained on long drives adults and teens alike.

I would second Terry Pratchett: the Tiffany Aching series were a huge hit in our car: funny, clever and perfect for your age group. HitchHikers and HP are also great. Have you got audible? It's fab for this sort of thing. My two (14 and 12) have also enjoyed some good classics - Sherlock Holmes (Hound Of the B is a good start) and - to my surprise - Jane Austin was a big hit too. Although we had to turn it off at one point in Mansfield Park as my ds was SO furious with the bad manners that it ceased to be safe to drive!! On Audible we're also enjoyed the Incorrigibles series (about 5 books I think), Neil Gaiman (Graveyard book), Patrick Ness (A Monster Calls) and Charlie Higsons Young Bond series ....

Cabin Pressure. It's available on Audible and is bloody hilarious.
