controlfreaky2 · 01/05/2007 00:15

No am back from the sunny climes much to the disgust of the boys to another far flung north easterly place which DC probably couldn't identify on a map.

No - there was a big media hoo haa here last week because DC took the tube!!! All fall down at his green credentials!!! In the most ridiculously posed photo ever there he was sat on his seat with nary another soul in sight with his briefcase and reading his copy of Chesil Beach. V funny convo in the Guardian as to how his people came up with which book he should be seen with.

Think of it as a sketch, not a novel.
And as an oblique answer to The French Lieutenant's Woman.

Will be interested to see what you think.

My mother has raved about this book all week.
And she usually has pretty good taste, so I'm third on the list to borrow it!

In view of my vast collection of unread books I think I will wait until it is out in paperback but it will be something to look forward to.

It was serialised on Radio 4 the other week. I was at the radio. Quite graphic.

Am I the only one to be really disappointed by it? Not a patch on Saturday or Atonement. A load of self-conscious clever-clogs b/s with no plot to speak of ... just a long shaggy dog story.
