I didn't like it.

Haven't seen the film. Will hire it when it comes out.

But I honestly didn't like the book.

I felt nothing for any of the central characters.

And the affair he had w/the Israeli doctor was so far beyond lame I think he just stuck it in there because his publisher told him to.

AitchTwoOh · 29/04/2007 20:42

I thought the film was terrific. I haven't read the book.

expatinscotland · 29/04/2007 20:44

I really like James McAvoy and Forest Whittaker as actors, so am looking forward to the film.

But I just couldn't get into the book. I found the main character too weak to be very believable. Fair enough in a book that's not marketed at being serious, but this one was.

Porcupine · 29/04/2007 20:46

the main charater was fab ime

I thought he, the main character, wasn't very well developed and felt no connection to him.

Again, just my 2p, but . . . hold onto your hats here, people, because you all know how much this book got on my tits, but I felt even the characters in 'We Need to Talk about Kevin' were better written.

expatinscotland · 29/04/2007 20:48

I'm reading 'Eat Pray Love' just now.

Wow! I'm very pleasantly surprised .

Porcupine · 29/04/2007 20:49

Obviously you're not alone in your opinion, cod, as the book won a number of awards, but I found it lacking.

Porcupine · 29/04/2007 20:50
