Audio books that are not abridged

I currently have an hour drive each way to work so have a lot of time to listen to cd's etc.

I thought I would get myself some audio books and got 'Pride and Prejudice' - a BBC version......well it was truly dreadful, who does P&P and cut out the entire Netherfield ball???

Anyway, does any have any suggestions of good non-abridged audio books? I like all things historical, sci-fi, classics

There are bazillions on audible. They specifically say if they are abridged or not. (Or dramatisations). If you don't want to buy from audible I'm sure you can look up the same version and buy elsewhere.Smile You cam look even if you're not a member I think or use their free trial and then cancel subscription.

The Count of Monte Christo. This was a book I never thought I would read, but my DD recommended it. It is really long and really entertaining.

Get a library app? I use Overdrive and my local library has lots of unabridged audiobooks.

I have the version of Pride and Prejudice read by Rosamund Pike and it’s perfect.

If you specifically want CDs rather than an app you just need to check that the version you’re getting isn’t abridged - it will say on the case somewhere.

I might try those apps then as all the CD's I've seen in bookshops are all abridged sadly.

I will try the Count of Monte Christo - I've read the book but a long time ago!
