does anyone on here read erotic fiction?

It has improved so much lately - I was wondering if I was the only mumsnetter who has noticed.

no
recommendations?

THIS but I know the author so a bit cheeky of me!

The books are so good now - not just sex but really coherant plots and characters - just with the sex left in - and that makes it so more real - would really recommend any black lace (they are often in the 'romance' section in bookshops now and the covers mean you can rad them on the tube in confidence.)

I must say this sounds rather offputting

David thinks his love-life is over when he is left unable to walk after a car accident. But then he meets kinky Mary, who finds the idea of a boy in a wheelchair too sexy for words. But is their affair just based on satisfying Mary's kinks, or something deeper? As David's scars begin to heal, soon both of them are having to face questions about what their attraction to one another really means.

what sort of fiction do you like (i mean non-erotic)

Dimpled · 27/04/2007 14:56

oh god loads - I am currently reading brokeback mountain (bought it before it was a flim though)!

down and out in paris and london

and wicked

all of which I am enjoying to various degrees. I love most of the current orange prize type literature and I read widely enjoying a huge variety of books.

I liked 'time travellers wife', I didn't get 'notes on a scandal', I loved 'disobedience' - um dunnoe really - is that enough to give you a picture?

yy
similar to me

I don't personally find the idea of that particular story very erotic though!!!

Dimpled · 27/04/2007 15:01

well you have to take it as a stroy rather than something you wuld find really erotic - I see it as a way of reading a really good book that doesn't stop at the bedroom door and gives an insight into the role and significance of sex in relationships.

fair enough

Katymac · 27/04/2007 15:02

I've read 2 of them - I wouldn't say erotic is the right description (that author might be different - but they were in the same range) - I think explicit is a better description

I don't think I would read anymore in the series

GameGirly · 27/04/2007 15:04

Another vote for Black Lace, but I wouldn't dare read them on the tube, Dimpled!

Katymac · 17/05/2007 21:05

Ok I might have changed my mind

This range's "Wicked WOrds" are fabulous

They are short stories and they keep your attention as they are so different

Emma Holly writes okay stuff.

The BEauty Trilogy by one Anne Rice is okay too if you're not too bothered by kink
