I want to give myself a kick out of the rut I’m in and looking for a book that will help me organize my thoughts.
I want to set myself a financial goal and also some goals to find more friends locally.
Any suggestions?

A book that I really like and is not at all wishy-washy is 168 hours by Laura Vanderkam. Covers all areas of life, looks at goals & time management in an interesting & readable way. Generally a good read!

What about Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg?
Laura Vanderkam also has a book focusing on finance- All the Money in the World.

PhilODox, I agree that All the money in the world is also a good book--generally everything that laura vanderkam has done works well.

how about the Happiness project by Gretchen Rubin? Not so much about financial stuff, but general goals & life improvement (not so wishy washy / a good read)

Getting things done by David Allen

I'd recommend Gretchen Rubin too - helps with knowing yourself and feeling like you can make small positive changes :)

I'm half way through 'Feel the Fear and do it Anyway.' I'm finding it really inspiring- wish I'd read it years ago. I'd like to make several changes to my life, including making new local friends and doing some voluntary work. I need a massive push as I am very prone to taking the easiest path in life, which is ultimately unfulfilling.
