I know there is probably a glut of these type of books around - can anyone recommend one that has been written based on personal experiences - probably leaning towards a holistic approach. I've become more interested recently about my general health and would like some advice that goes beyond drinking water and getting plenty of sleep.

There's always the trusty old Our Bodies, Ourselves - which was the original feminist health bible ... very much a collective of personal experiences. I have a very very well-used copy from college days: it answered all kinds of doubts & raised consciousness at same time!

In fact I've been thinking it's time for Ourselves, Growing Older [wry face]

Thanks for that, I'll check them both out - maybe do a search on Amazon.

If you do - the current edition of OBO doesn't link to any reader reviews, but the previous edition (1998) does - look at that listing & you'll get a very good sense of what it's like.

What about this?

Thanks Tatties - that sounds like a good all round life-style guide and not unrealistic or santimonious - I'll check it out.
