Which kindle (to work with overdrive!)

I have an original kindle, which I do like, but it obviously isn't compatible with Overdrive (the library app). I do read on my phone, but it's a bit small- and dh's iPad is uncomfortably big! Would a kindle fire work (they are an attractive price)? If not, any suggestions for something better?

Thank you!

I use my kindle fire to read books on overdrive app. It works fine and, as you say, they are a nice price

Oh I can help.
Get a Kobo instead. You can get books from the library on Overdrive and from the Kobo store. Also you can get books from any other ebook retailers other than Amazon. (Who are a dreadful bunch of cunts) Also if you get the Kobo H2O then it is completely waterproof.
I changed from Kindle to Kobo a few years ago and could port over all my books.

I hadn't thought about other e readers- can't afford the h2o, but will look at a basic model, thanks Hiding! Thanks for confirming Overdrive works on the fire Verona!
