Just to say this is one of our book club reads at the moment. I had not read it before (though I knew the story) and I am loving it! It is an easy read and there are lovely descriptions in it and the characters are lovely as well. That's all I wanted to say really!

However I absolutely hate Wuthering Heights! I just do. I get confused who is talking and do not like Cathy's character at all.

I hate the book of wind in the willows. Obvs it's funny and toad is amazing, but it's meandering and you can tell it's a collection of short stories. The death of the authors son mars it for me as well.

I so agree with about Wuthering Heights. I’ve always loathed it, and have never understood why people rave about such overwrought tosh.

I also love Wind in the Willows. When DS was little we had a cd of Alan Bennett reading it - it was so soothing!
