I have a one year old and I find reading books on parenting really interesting.

What have you read and enjoyed / found useful?

Inside out parenting, I found it really interesting because the author is a parent and a psychiatrist I believe x

Mumsnet actually has published a few very good books on parenting.

I also quite enjoyed at that stage The girlfriends guide to... series by Vicki Iovine which are quite funny but practical too.

Second inside out parenting - great mixture of research well explained and anecdote, well written and funny.

I'm reading one for parenting teenagers called Get out of my life.....but first take me and Alex into town.
You've got a few years yet before you need to be reading that though!

So far I rate it 20% useful, 20% utter rubbish and 60% so-so.

I like "The Parenting Book" by Nicky and Sila Lee - written from a Christian perspective but practical and covers from young children up to teenagers.

I also seem to recall borrowing "How to talk so children will listen and listen so kids will talk" from the library and finding it useful.
