It came up on my amazon recommended as I'm a big fan of dystopian fiction. I wasn't expecting how many parallels I found to The Handmaid's Tale. The sexual relations, while not explicit were disturbing to say the least, I found parts extremely hard to read.

Anyone else read it, what did you think?

I'm a third of the way through the book, and was thinking of not reading the rest. I don't feel like it's grabbing my attention, and parts, such as the ritual to find out the sex of the baby, was difficult for me to get through. Do you think it is worth persevering with?

I read it when it was a new release and really enjoyed it.
