I enjoyed ( if thats the right word for a book like that) but it isn't accurate by a long shot and for a teenager (think thats who it is written for) it could be more than they could handle.

There was a thread for Roisin about this a couple of weeks ago.

NuttyMuffins · 05/04/2007 21:07

My mum thought it was fantastic.

The recent thread is here

Fwiw our Head of English, who has far more literary credentials than me, thinks it's great.

No we've done Sundays recently. Are you doing Saturday mornings now? Who with?

Ds1 is now at the 45 min class on Fridays after school. The small pool is open then too, and I'm hoping they'll let ds2 go in unaccompanied (he's nearly 8): Do you think they will?

DS2 doesn't want to continue lessons (on Sundays), but is - could be interesting

He's been wallowing in the middle class for ages and ages and ages: about 5 terms I think

He needs a good kick up the backside me thinks!

dd1 is swimming with Kh at 9am

dd2s teacher has left and we have had crisis over it! She worshipped that teacher and actually behaved for her and they don't know yet who is replacing her.She should have gone up this time but she doesn't behave enough to be in the middle bit!
Thinking of defecting to the other pool with her as it is VF(from our pool) that teaches there and she is very good!

They should let Ds2 in (just tell them he is 8 if they ask!), he can swim and its only the little pool anyway so he'll be fine.
We used to go on a Sun am open swim til they changed the times as now its too late for the big pool as kids go to their Dads at lunchtime .

I've always said they have to do swimming and dd1 asked last year how long (she was getting lazy/bored too!) and I said level 8 (first number that came into my head)then dd1 got level 7 this time and I'm hoping she has forgotten!

Oops very long hijacking post

Sadly DD read & enjoyed it - but with little understanding of the underlying horror
