Books about overcoming adversity/uplifting reads

Can anyone recommend some books, ideally non-fiction but open to fiction, about overcoming adversity?

Stuff like Cheryl Strayed's Wild or a grittier version of Eat Pray Love perhaps?

Did anyone have any thoughts on this?

Malala's book is good. Also, "Touching the Void"

My suggestions are fiction, and I wouldn't say they were about overcoming diversity, but I always read them when I'm a bit down and I need a book to make me feel fuzzy inside (and not in the cringey, simple way some books do).

They're really sweet and give you a different perspective on life.

Perhaps not quite what you're looking for, but I love 'The Road to Nab End' by William Woodruff. It's an autobiographical novel about his harsh but not unhappy childhood. Although it ends with his family at a low ebb, you know that he went on to become a successful academic and writer.

Nick Vujicic "Life Without Limbs" is an amazing read.
