it was just very refreshing, the style was incredibly inviting and also interesting to read about second world war from german point of view

BellaBear · 31/03/2007 21:31

it was a gift so I hadn't heard anything about it before reading it

Tiggerish · 31/03/2007 21:33

I did read the blurb before I bought it, didn't just go off what you said. And someone called Ben W gave a very nice review

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 31/03/2007 21:36

Nemo2007 · 31/03/2007 21:38

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 31/03/2007 21:40

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 31/03/2007 21:41

I meant the Shadow of the wind then Nemo that takes a while to get into the Book Thief draws you in straight way.

Loved it.

Really, really loved it.

Stayed up till half past three last night because I could not go to sleep till I found out what happened.

ArcticRoll · 10/04/2007 18:24

Just bought it as my friend raved about it.
I hadn't heard of it before.

OrvilleRedenbacher · 10/04/2007 18:24

it was on front row
is not on wish list
tis fo kids too non?

ArcticRoll · 30/04/2007 22:23

I'm finding it rather dull.
Have only reached page 138 and contemplating giving up on it as the new Anne Tyler is temping me from the bedside table.
However am going to plough on as friend said it was so good.
I'm finding the writing style rather annoying.
Did anyone else give up on it?
