Books on Romani/Gypsy way of life?

Past and/or present. Their way of life really interests me and I would love to find out more. I know the books on this topic aren't that numerous so wondered if anyone had actually read one that was good and could be recommended?

I've not read it but Gypsy Boy by Mikey Walsh has 4 1/2 stars on Amazon and it sounds good. Lynda La Plant wrote a novel years ago about a Gypsy family The Legacy, followed by The Talisman. I enjoyed them at the time.

The Invisible Ones by Stef Penney is really good.

Meridon by Philippa Gregory is about a Romany girl. It's the third one in a trilogy though so best to read the other two first - Wildacre and The Favoured Child.

Gypsy Princess by Violet Cannon is brilliant. Also loved Gypsy boy by Mikey Walsh.
