I used to love these but no idea which ones I've read and which ones I haven't!

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 20/08/2017 18:08

Love them. Especially as I used to live in Edinburgh!

DramaAlpaca · 20/08/2017 18:09

I love them and have read them all. Although you could start with any book, best to start with the first, "Knots and Crosses", and read in order of written. Although each book covers a different crime, there are a few characters that feature in books, so handy to know from the start. And also follows Rebus through various stages of his life.

Also shows how Edinburgh and Scotland have changed over the years. The Scottish parliament becoming bigger, the independence vote and the G20 meetings held there

I read about 6 books years and years ago might have to pick them up again.

Love them, as you might guess from my MN name Grin Loved Rebus and also the Malcolm Fox series. For me Rebus got better as the series progressed.

His books are excellent crime fiction - you should enjoy them. Do read in correct sequence.

Brilliant

mirren3 · 20/08/2017 19:57

Brilliant books, also try the Stuart McBride books. Again they are best read in order!

BizzyFizzy · 20/08/2017 20:00

Love them. I have even made a pilgrimage to the Oxford pub.

chelseahotel · 27/08/2017 15:30

Love them all. I have the latest waiting on my To Read shelf.
A couple of years ago I timed it so that I was in the middle of a Rebus novel when I went to Edinburgh. It made me look at the whole city from that angle.
I agree read in order.

susannahmoodie · 27/08/2017 16:52

Love love Love Them. I went to uni in Edinburgh so always get a warm nostalgic glow when I read them, even when they describe horrific murders.
