Questions about Nesbo's The Snowman (Warning - Potential Spoilers)

I recently read (and enjoyed) Jo Nesbo's The Snowman, though have only read this single book in the Harry Hole series. I'm hoping others may have also read this as I have a couple of questions to which Google has not provided the answer.

Q1 - Is there further significance to the "mold man" - either in previous or later books?

Q2 - When Rakel found the note on here windshield, who was the boy in the back of her car? With this one I wondered if I could have accidentally skipped a page/chapter as I was reading on my Kindlle.

I've read them all. I don't recall there being any further significance to the mould man. I remember wondering all the way through The Snowman whether it would turn out to be the mould man that was the killer and I was a bit baffled at the end. I did wonder whether he was a figment of Harry's imagination, he was losing it a bit.

I can't recall the bit when Rakel finds a note on her windsreen. Was it not Oleg?

Hi, a long time ago I actually emailed Jo Nesbo via his website to ask about the mould man. I actually wrote a thread about it on mumsnet, might be searchable. To my immense disappointment he never replied and I have to say I went off him completely as I thought it incredibly arrogant not to reply. I had invested quite heavily in the whole series, and they are quite heavy books with a massive amount of characters.
I have emailed authors before with questions and they have answered me. One once sent me a pdf of an alternative ending and for this I will love her forever.
My Dh thinks I'm mad.....
