I started reading one in the school library waiting for a meeting to start and have no idea what it was, or who wrote it. Has anybody read any Japanese crime fiction and been impressed? If it's available on Kindle, it would be a bonus!

Thank you! Several to try. DS is going to try to sneak me into the school library too.

I really enjoyed:

"The Devotion of Suspect X" by Keigo Higashino

Haruki Murakami's Wind up bird Chronicles & 1Q84 are worthy reads. His style of writing is quite surreal yet both sexual and violent in parts.

Thanks, Orlando, I read that one, but had forgotten it. And I shall look for the Murakami's, Bobby.

Oh god I so wanted to love 1Q84 (and bits of it I did) but I'm about 70% of the way through and I just can't get through it!

I liked a book called Out although I don't remember who it's by.
