i dont get it ??????? how do you get a book ???

posyhairdresser · 09/07/2004 22:07

You check the website to see where they have been recently released
eg phone box by xxx bus station
park bench nr St Paul's Rd
etc

Also you release your own books that you have read, marked with stickers and log them on the website. Then whoever finds them can log their find before reading it and then releasing it on IYSWIM!!

So once a book has been read it is passed on and on without charge like a library system or like the green bike system!

mummytosteven · 09/07/2004 22:57

just had a look at it - nearly all the liverpool books released seem to be sci-fi - weird or what?

suedonim · 09/07/2004 23:10

I've belonged to BC for quite a while, though I haven't released any books for ages. I've never found one, either!

Paula71 · 09/07/2004 23:54

Dh found a book on the Edinburgh to Bathgate train and I released it when we were on holiday in Germany last year. But as far as I have seen no one picked it up. Here was me thinking I was being adventurous in letting the book go abroad.

FYI it was "An Unsuitable Job For A Woman."

My friend in Chicago goes on about it quite often so I think it is more popular over there.

Janh · 10/07/2004 00:08

Oooh, had forgotten about this - we have billions of books begging to be released! (Am having major sort-out/shakedown).

codswallop · 10/07/2004 00:09

Janh you arent?
really/ any pokemon/ crappy ds stuff?

( btw when will I ever be able to send anything YOUR way?)

Janh · 10/07/2004 00:25

Probably, coddy. Def have a couple of annuals. Will get back to you!

posyhairdresser · 10/07/2004 11:55

I think this needs to get its membership up to a critical mass, then we will all be finding books all over the place, and less books will be sitting idle on shelves!

Sign up everyone!

The books you liberate have to have a big bright sticker on the front saying that the book is not lost, please pick it up!
