Magazine Junkies: Monocle?

It's a new magazine! I got the first issue on the weekend, and it looks pretty good. Quite general-interest, but some interesting articles (Japan's military, Chinese economic activity in Africa). I'm not sure about the Style stuff, and I'm nervous about Tyler Brulé, but it has lots of expensive adverts in it.

Anyone else got it?

Well, I'm still enjoying it, even if I'm not quite the jet set business type it's probably meant for ...

No, I wouldn't say it's for metrosexuals. Unless they have more interest in international affairs (in the non-sex sense of the term) than I thought.

There's a huge piece on Japan's self-defence force, and another on what China is up to in Africa. Also, small pieces on various upcoming elections in random European places.

Hmmm, the section on books is pretty pathetic. And there's only men's fashion . But still, I'd call it a reasonably interesting international magazine, with details about every continent, I think. Oh, not much about Australia. But still.

They made a second issue! Got it yesterday. Haven't had a chance to read it, but it's just as thick and glossy as the first one ... nobody else out there into this one yet?

Second issue also very good. Come on, there has to be another MNer buying this! There was even some women's fashion in issue 2!

It's very thick, and quite cheap (£5), and really quite pretty, too.
