I'm considering trying Amazon Unlimited, what do people thinking? Is it worth it? Thanks

Can't really see the advantage of it over using the library. Seems expensive for what it is.

With a few exceptions, there aren't a lot of well-known authors on there. It's the kind of stuff that would be cheap to buy on Kindle anyway, and probably also books that are only published on Kindle (no print edition).

Then there are a lot of older classics, usually over 100 years old. They are there to make the list of Kindle Unlimited books look more impressive. But the thing is, most older classics like this (Jane Austen, Charles Dickens etc) are available in free editions for your Kindle anyway! (Partly because copyright has expired I suppose).

I agree with Split, very expensive for what it is.

Agree, I did a free trial but wasn't impressed. If you like mediocre crime books you will probably like it as there seemed to be hundreds of those.

The consensus seems to be not worth it! Thanks all.

I tried a free trial once, a few years ago and it didn't tempt me to subscribe at all.

One thing that puts me off, apart from the lack of top authors as others have already mentioned, is the fact that when you unsubscribe then all the books you've downloaded disappear from your Kindle.

Of course I understand that the point of it is to stay subscribed, but personally I prefer to use the library or just buy a book and pay for it as and when I want to. At least then it's bought and paid for and mine to keep.

Oh and I would also agree that it is rather pricey.

I tried it, it wasn't great. The books are about the same quality as the ones you find for free on Kindle anyway. You would be better off sticking to the library.

I tried it and loved it. But I read about 20 books in a month, all kindle only types in a series (mostly sci fi and apocalyptic types). It is very expensive for what you get and I have hundreds of unread books so it's just not worth it.

The books I downloaded but hadn't returned didn't go at the end of the month although they're not in my library. There is a lot I want to read which wasn't available.
