i thoroughly recommend this book and i think the majority of mums will be able to relate it, it taught me not to take to motherhood too seriously and just go with it .. having not read a book since having my 9 month old i managed to read it in two days ... if anyone has read this and can recommend something similar perhaps a UK equivalent i would love to hear from you

sounds great!

i wd always tend to recommend 'how not to be a perfect mother' although it is a bit dated.

have to be honest and say that it has a cloud of sadness over it now for me, as well.

nice interview with Libby Purves in Grauniad today, choosy. She doesn't mention her son directly but the undertones are there for those that know. (Tried a link but the Grauniad website is being arsey.)

I loved 'how not to be a perfect mother'
