Dd gave me this book to read, and I've just had to ask her if it gets more frightening!

Her reply: "Better read it in daytime, mum."

Oh dear. Shall I continue? I've got to the part where Miss Avocet has come to warn them, and I'm starting to get the willies.

Just read it - it can be read at bedtime but I did have some vivid dreams some nights.

I loved it, but I do enjoy feeling creeped out by a book. It is a bit creepy but nothing really bad. I agree with your dd, read it in the day 😁
I especially loved the photographs throughout. I have Hollow City in my bedside pile but haven't got round to it yet.
