I've never heard of him before but stumbled upon this book while browsing Amazon, UNCONDITIONAL PARENTING: Moving from Rewards and Punishments to Love and Reason.

I may be a little premature here as I'm only half way through, but I've read lots of parenting books and this is without doubt the best, ever! So if you're thinking about getting one please make it this!

I'd love to hear any opinions you may have, those of you who have read it.

Excellent. Maybe I should have done a search before I posted, I just did one and see it's been mentioned here a few times before, actually 174 times! Nevermind!

Brilliant book. Should be put into all Bounty packs you receive in pregnancy. I am a bit of an Alfie Kohn fan, though

Love Alfie Kohn. "Punished By Rewards" is another great book - focusing purely on discipline methods such as star charts, bribes, incentives and praise

How are you getting on with the book Sossy? I have managed to get hold of a copy and have started reading. Very thought provoking already, wouldn't mind a chat about it when I'm finished.
