About 20 years ago I read a book that I was convinced was written by Martin Amis, but I must be wrong.
The premis was a rivalry between two writers. One writer became famous and described his favourite would as uxorious. The non famous writer described his hoover as an uncoiled snake in the cupboard.
Any one know this book.
