A few weeks ago I heard a a review and interview with the author of a book on radio 4. I remember it involved a young girl going on a whaling ship and later again as an adult. It was fiction and sounded like something my wife might enjoy. I can't remember the name of, The book, author or radio programme.

Any ideas what it might be, off to waters tones in the morning and would love to get it.

Was it on Book Club or was the author talking to Mariella Frostrup?

tasteslikechicken · 22/12/2016 20:18

Mariella wasn't the presenter. I might look on r4 website. Does Mariella host book club?

Wasn't book club, I think that's the show where the audience question the author. Was more of a one to one

What time of day was it OP. ? If you can remember if morning/afternoon or evening I should be able to track the programme down due to an unshakeable long term 17 hr a day Radio 4 addiction..

tasteslikechicken · 22/12/2016 21:57

Marilyn, I'm fairly sure it was betwee n mid morning and mid afternoon. Sorry can't be more specific, I spend half my working life in the car. It was also a female presenter. It wasn't woman's hour. Pretty much a book based programme, but not any of the obvious ones I have looked at.

Not a whaling ship, but this came to mind:
