A Literary Advent Calendar

This link for a Literary Advent Calendar was sent to me by a friend this morning and I thought what a lovely way to countdown to Christmas. Anyone want to join me?

I would like to join you! I just read the 1st December poem and it is very sweet. I'm going to recite it when we put our tree up this year- which may be weeks from now despite my intentions.
Bookriot is a podcast I listen to and they are quite reliable with recommendations so I look forward to what they have put together.

Lovely to have you all join me. I loved today's story and am going to read it with the little one's this evening. It was one of my favourites as a kid. I still have the Ladybird book.

I remember it from my childhood too. I'm trying not to peek ahead.

I'm still thinking about Jim and Bella. I never read that short story before, it was lovely. I read it a couple of times. Learned a new word from as well- mendicant.

I enjoyed today's as well, will read it to my ds tonight.

Oh this is wonderful. I'm hugely enjoying this and have shared it with our English dept and in my library. It's been great fun because the students have asked me to read and more and more have stopped to listen. Most unusual for senior school. Thank you.

A Child's Christmas In Wales today. Lovely. I grew up in Swansea so this has special resonance for me.

Trying not to peak ahead

Today's story was so good. I'm sure I need to read it again and again to fully understand it but even on first reading it has a fairy tale quality. I really liked the granny. Am still really enjoying the calendar.

Would somebody please be able to post an alternative link? I can't get the one in the op to work (keeps timing out).

I know we're over halfway through our advent calendars now, but I've only just stumbled upon this thread and am curious!
