I found this a really lovely, interesting read. The illustrations are good although disappointing that most are taken from the TV series. The book is easy to read and very informative.

mo3733 · 27/12/2016 20:06

this book has definitely made me want to seek out the series. its perfect winter reading.

lionheart · 27/12/2016 20:33

Loved this as a tie-in to the show--fascinating collection.

burwellmum · 28/12/2016 12:44

Great surprise as I haven't received an email. Lovely book, liked the pictures, and I would have enjoyed it even if I hadn't seen the programmes. Most interested to see Victoria's spidery handwriting.
Thank you for the book.

cbruin111 · 28/12/2016 12:49

Will look out for this one :)

BearAusten · 28/12/2016 22:34

Thank you for this delightful book. I have not as yet watched the television series. I found having the photographs from this recent adaptation of her early life quite strange, but useful in a way. It gave a more lively, and to a certain extent, more accessible perspective to her letters and all the other information about this period of Victoria's life. An enjoyable read, one that I was able to pick up and put down, when I had time over the run up to Christmas.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 28/12/2016 22:36

Im reading it at the moment. DP kindly gifted it to me for Christmas. It's very interesting, she was a fascinating woman. I don't think you even have to be interested in Victoriana to enjoy it.

princesssmitheee · 29/12/2016 01:46

Really enjoyed it x

Marg2k8 · 29/12/2016 10:16

Oooh - have I missed this one. Shame, as I would have enjoyed it. One to look out for in the shops or the library.

phillie1 · 29/12/2016 11:44

Not my cup of tea

smit23 · 30/12/2016 21:12

I'm a history buff and fell in love with this almost as much as the tv show!

xenoyia6060 · 30/12/2016 22:08

This is a good looking book with some amazing photography. A mixture of images from the series but also historical photos. An indepth look at Victorias life and a great companion book to the series. If you love the series this is a must have book :)

cwalliss82 · 31/12/2016 07:01

Great series and great book. Loved them both.

Anj123 · 31/12/2016 11:59

I am halfway through Victoria's Letters and am really enjoying it. I love the combination of letters, text and photos as it makes it so much more interesting to read. Unfortunately I didn't see the TV series and I think I've missed it on catch up so will look out for a repeat. If anyone knows when it will be on TV please let me know! Thanks very much!

mumpetuk1 · 01/01/2017 12:25

Heard it is a great read

angiehoggett · 01/01/2017 17:46

an enchanting read

rocketriffs · 02/01/2017 10:14

A very interesting insight to quite a remarkable woman and one of this countries leading historical figures. The Victorian era is one of my favourites and I found this to be a good read. Although this has been published on the back of the TV serialisation, I would have preferred to see more black and white and sepia toned photographs of the period over the digital High Definition stills from the Television Production.

nonnyno · 02/01/2017 11:00

I loved the TV series - the actress who played Victoria was so good. The photos in the book were beautiful and the background information really interesting, it goes into some depth on Victoria's life. All in all a book to treasure, or it would make a gorgeous present.

Bellroyd · 02/01/2017 11:07

I went from having little interest prior to the series to thoroughly enjoying this book. Absolutely fascinating to get this candid insight into the woman.

hayleyjturner78 · 02/01/2017 19:20
