I haven't watched the TVs series but this sounds like a very interesting book.

jacqui5366 · 26/12/2016 08:08

I learned that she is not the demure old lady we all see, but such an amazing interesting lady who history has not (in my opinion) treat with the dignity she deserved. We loved reading the story of this amazing lady, she opened up our eyes to the hidden life and characteristics of this person in our history. We have learned much and had out eyes opened to the strength and personality a person can achieve when you have to prove yourself and grow in confidence.

Had to read this book having been a fan of the TV series. Fascinating history

MrsDramaQueen · 26/12/2016 10:46

This looks really good. I have watched the TV series so this would be a good book to read to follow it it. I've had a look through it in the supermarket, and it's got some good pictures in. It's definitely one on my list to get.

IonaAilidh11 · 26/12/2016 10:47

fantastic read

beckyinman · 26/12/2016 10:57

Absolutely fascinating but I would have liked it to be a little more about real life and less about the TV show, although understand why it is

angela121262 · 26/12/2016 11:19

Sound marvellous..

kerryv · 26/12/2016 11:33

Not really an era I enjoy reading about. But the book was surprisingly good.

iut044 · 26/12/2016 12:15

The Victoria Letters by Helen Rappaport is a fascinating book with some great illustrations and provides great insight into Victoria and her life.

mooota1514 · 26/12/2016 13:52

Received my copy and agree that it is an amazing book. My only negative so far is that I find the font that has been used for some of the letters very difficult to read and that has impeded my enjoyment of the book as a whole.

cocochips · 26/12/2016 14:42

A great book with great illustrations

glennamy · 26/12/2016 16:11

A great book, I love anything to do with Royal history and this gives a great insight into the relationships that she had encountered...

vonniebab2 · 26/12/2016 16:44

What a wonderful book, beautiful photography and informative, I just loved reading this book and didn't want it to end. A book I will always treasure!

RustyBear · 26/12/2016 17:00

DD gave me this for Christmas, along with the DVD - not sure whether I'll have time to finish it by January 3rd, but I'll have a try...

lindseystuart855 · 26/12/2016 18:03

I do love a book that accompanies and enhances what you see on the television and this is just lovely! The photos are gorgeous and the behind the scenes information is very interesting. It more than enhances the book and with the historical snippets this is both a coffee table book and one to treasure. Victoria's letters are really nicely woven into a book that captures your imagination and it's a very worth purchase - one to treasure!

Elizasmum02 · 26/12/2016 18:54

I loved the TV series and this book was an excellent companion. It is nicely presented and good to leave on the coffee table and leaf through from time to time. I don't know much about that period of royal history and it really brought it alive to me.

rachelmi · 27/12/2016 15:02
