Read it YEARS ago - when supposedly revising for exams!

Can't for the life of me remember it though!

I read it years and years ago, when I was in school, so it must be at least25 years ago!

It is set in the 50s and 60s so might 'read' a bit dated.

Quite interesting. Most of the women in it were fairly horrid IIRC

Years ago hear too - it would probably be quite tame by present-day standards!

I also read it years ago and loved it because it was so dated - seemed like a snapshot of how I imagined America would have been during those years (45-early 60s). Was very diappointed when I later saw the film - total dross.

I saw the movie when I was too lazy to find another channel. It is dated but if you want a slice of americana kitsch might be fun. It does capture a time in US history. As an aside, I couldn't stop watching the movie because it starred sharon tate who was brutally murdered by charles manson, after the move another slice of dark americana.
