Films of Georgette Heyer's novels

Wouldn't it be lovely if there were some excellent films of the best Georgette Heyer novels?

Do you think anyone reading might be able to make this happen?
In any event, what films would you all like to seen "done" first (on the basis that if done they would be done beautifully....).

I will go first. I would do These Old Shades and Devil's Cub as one film. If Richard Armitage can read Slyvester for audio books perhaps he would take on the Vidal role.....but I can't think of a good Mary Challoner at the moment. Any thoughts? The actress from Poldark could be Leonie, John Hurt the aging father etc.....?

Suspect you will all have better ideas than me.

I don't know that I'd want to see them on film. They are my comfort reads and I imagine all the characters and what they'd look like. I'm sure that Rufus Sewell would have to be Damarel if Venetia was filmed.

Wouldn't that be lovely? All that witty repartee and beautiful costumes on film....I would vote for 'The Grand Sophy'.

Yes. Having enjoyed Lord M in Victoria he would be perfect. But who would be Venetia? Colin Morgan for Venetia's brother, and Joanna Lumley for her mother!
